ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 7-APRIL 10
1. Using the information below, fill out Google Doc: "Color Wheel". Turn in and begin #2.
2. Go to our Google Classroom and begin the Google Doc: "Logos". Turn in and then work on the Creative Prompt for the week:
CREATIVE PROMPT for the week: Exotic pet...Draw 2 thumbnail sketches of what YOUR exotic pet would look like (think about combining features from several animals to create your own. THEN create a final image. Use color.
If you are able to work with a phone/tablet app or in Photoshop, please do! I'd love to see your digital creations!

Without color: white, black and the mixures of white and black
Colors next to each other on the color wheel sharing a common hue.
Colors opposite each other on the color wheel. Must travel THROUGH the center of the circle.
A color scheme that uses only ONE hue and the tints and shades of that hue.
Start with the HUE...add white and it is a TINT...add black and it is a SHADE
One color plus the two colors that on EITHER SIDE of its complement on the color wheel.
Top left: Start with YELLOW.....travel across the middle of the wheel to it's complement which is VIOLET....but you do NOT want violet you want the two colors on EITHER SIDE of violet: RED-VIOLET and BLUE-VIOLET.
Top right: Start with RED....across to green....choose the 2 splits: YELLOW-GREEN & BLUE-VIOLET
Bottom left: Start with BLUE...across to orange...choose the 2 splits: YELLOW-ORANGE & RED-ORANGE
Bottom right: Start with YELLOW-ORANGE....across to BLUE-VIOLET...choose the 2 splits: VIOLET & BLUE
Any THREE equally distanced colors on the color wheel (note the solid triangle and the dotted triangle on the wheel.
Blues, greens, violets. Cool colors suggest coolness and often seem to recede from the viewer.
Reds, yellows, oranges. Warm colors suggest warmth and often seem to advance toward the viewer.
Mixing together two complementary pairs to achieve a range of BROWNS. Found in the middle of the color wheel.
Primary triad: colors that cannot be mixed
Secondary triad: equal mixing of 2 primary colors
Tertiary/Intermediate: mixing of a primary and secondary color - found in between the two colors being mixed
