Synthesize and relate knowledge and personal experiences to make art. (Connect competency)

Sketchbook check EVERY Tuesday.

All pages MUST BE dated.

As artists, you are expected to be drawing every day.  Part of the challenge of drawing is to come up with something new and exciting to stretch your skills so that you will grow in your abilities to draw.

EVERY student is to have a sketchbook.  It must be a good quality sketchbook from companies such as: Canson, Strathmore, Fabriano, etc.  There are many good sketchbooks on the market.  It should be acid free and it should be for dry media.  DO NOT use a newsprint sketchbook or a cheaply made sketchbook.  There are examples at the bottom of this page.

Some of your classroom assignments will be required to be created in your sketchbook so you must have it with you at all times.  Your sketchbook will also be evaluated with the grading rubric that is used for your projects and homework.  All pages are to be dated.

Each Tuesday you are to place your sketchbook on your desk and it will be checked for new entries since the previous Tuesday.
